About
Dan and Rohaise Rose-Bristow run The Torridon on the beautiful, rugged west coast of Scotland. A combination of luxury hotel, gourmet restaurant, cosy Highland inn, smart self catering accommodation and Highland adventure activity centre, The Torridon has everything you could want from a Scottish holiday.
However this blog is not the official hotel website or the place to choose your room. That happens over at www.thetorridon.com
Instead this is is where we keep in touch with loyal guests and friends who have stayed with us over the years as well as a place where we can make new friends online and share this fantastic part of Scotland.
Who’s here?
We have a cast of stellar bloggers – though the words mostly come from Dan, when he remembers. Meet the crew:
Dan: leader of the pack. Glad to be a hotelier and out of the banking game. Loves nothing better than tending to his guests whether taking them for clay shooting or helping them choose a wine. Can be seen on his quad. A lot.
Rohaise: yummy mummy of three and a successful hotelier with a great eye for design and quality and the real brains behind the job.
Bruno: top chef. Bruno, Emma and the team provide breakfast, lunch and dinner plus special occasion food to the highest standard seven days a week. Passionate about working with local suppliers, Bruno ensures the quality of all the produce coming through the kitchen door and then creates his magic for all the guests in the restaurant.
Robert: worked in top Scottish hotels for many years, including Cromlix and Skibo Catle. Robert is a big Kylie fan and has been known to fly to Australia twice in one year to see her.
Allan: our new marketing assistant. A graduate of the University of Strathclyde with a joint honours degree in Marketing and Geography, he knows his way to the kettle and is not afraid to use it.
Les; dedicated gardener who has done everything. Loves photography and writing and is an amateur song writer. You can smell him coming a mile away as he is fanatical about manure. In the garden of course.
Chris and Rich: our activities team and all-round action men. Chris and Rich are constantly on hand to lead guests on outdoor activities in and around the Torridon. They have a comprehensive menu of fun and games but safety is always their top priority.
Neil: knits together blog, Twitter and Flickr with the clumsy enthusiasm of a puppy with a ball of wool. This is all his fault and he will suffer for it.
Steve: gets an honorary mention for kindly letting us use some of his photographs here. He is a good friend who lives near by and a fantastic photographer. There are more photos as well as a fascinating account of how he built his house on his website.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We welcome comments on the blog and will be glad to answer any question about Torridon.
Dan sends out regular updates on Twitter. Follow him by clicking this button or read his latest news below.

I would say, try the Tesco Brand ” Liver & Bacon ” and have a quick access to the near Hospital
or 999 or Funeral Company.
I am a man, but I cook our dinners and my wife wahes all the mess.
