From the Whisky Bar: Highland Park Hjarta

Highland Park Hjarta

As we fast approach the winter months, I am anxious to get in as many new whiskies as possible to last me through the long months ahead. This week I have been lucky to get four new whiskies for the bar which now brings the total malt whisky collection to 370. I found Highland Park Hjarta by chance and I am glad that I did:  it looks good and more importantly it tastes delicious. This is also a limited bottling with fewer than 4000 available, so get one while you can.

Colleen’s tasting notes:
Nose: Spice, lemon and slight smoke
Palate: Tropical fruits come to mind with some peaty notes coming through at the end

Finish: This is a clean long finish.

I haven’t matched this whisky yet with food so please if you are lucky to get your hands on a bottle and are tasting with cheese, meat or desserts, please let me know. As always, your thoughts are always appreciated.
