A very Scottish Wedding: from the Highland piper to dancing until dawn

by Neil on March 4, 2009

When it comes to planning a romantic Scottish wedding, it is often helpful to know what is possible and what has been done before. That way you can pick and choose elements other people have enjoyed while also adding an original touch of your own.

This why we thought we would offer some insights into our planning process at the Torridon describing some of the wedding services available to couples looking to get married or even just honeymoon here in the Highlands.

For example here is a menu of events and activities we have been putting together for a couple wedding at the Torridon:

Arrive to afternoon tea – cakes and tea.
Welcome all your guests
Seafood buffet in the hall
Whisky Nosing in the bar

Wake up to breakfast in bed
Treatments organised – pre wedding massage
Hair and beauty
Activities – archery on the lawn or clay pigeon shooting.
Candle lit ceremony in the drawing room
Highland piper to pipe
Champagne reception with canapés and clarsach player
Wedding breakfast – chef will discuss a prefect menu for you.
Celidh – dancing til dawn
Fireworks on the front lawn
Bacon rolls at midnight.

Be whisked away in a helicopter the next day.

Sounds good. We will fill in some of the details over the next wee while but in the meantime, if you have any questions about what is possible or even possibly out of this world, fire them over.

A luxury hotel in Scotland, a gourmet restaurant, a cosy Highland inn, smart self catering accommodation and a Highland adventure activity centre, The Torridon has everything you could want from a Scottish holiday. To find out more and to book online please visit the main Torridon website.
